What is a cookie?
A cookie is a file that downloads in your computer when you access a certain website. The cookies allow a website, among other things, to store and get information about the browsing habits of a user or its computer and, depending on the information that they contain and on the way that you use your computer, thay can be used to recognise the user. The user’s browser memorises cookies in the hard drive only dring the current session, taking up a minimum space of memory and without causing any damage to the computer. The cookies do not contain any kind of specific personal information, and most of them are erased from the hard drive when the browsing session ends (they are called “session cookies”). Most of the browsers accept the cookies as a standard and, independently, thay allow or deny in the security settings te temporary or memorised cookies.
